About the work:
This print captures the essence of the drafting skills of National Artist Cesar Legaspi who often sketched with pencils but later in life depended on ballpoint pens. These drawings were much sought after by collectors. Legaspi also dabbled with various printmaking techniques. But it was his close inspection of form and space that continue to marvel us today. A close confidant of the artist revealed his working technique to us. He would first work with studies which were drawings utilizing a circular motion of the hand to create form and shadow. The print reveals a permutation of the singular technique of this great modern master.
